Timothy Weston Curtis Montie welcomed into the world on May 23, 2023 at 2:42 a.m.! 8lbs 10oz and 21 inches!!

 

After seven hospital births and being induced for six of them, my husband and I decided to have a home birth for number eight and I'm so thankful we did!! It was the best experience ever! I wish we would have chose to have a homebirth for all of my pregnancies!

 

I woke up at 1a.m. and had to go to the bathroom. I went to the bathroom and then out to the kitchen to get a drink and back to bed, so I thought! I was just getting back to sleep at about 1:20 a.m. and all of a sudden I felt a pop! I laid there for a few minutes and then all of a sudden I felt an intense contraction! I continued to lay there for a few more minutes and another contraction! These contractions were only 5 minutes apart and really strong! I got up and went to the bathroom again and confirmed that the pop was in fact from my water breaking! I woke Shane up and told him that he wasn't going to work because we were having a baby!! He started timing my contractions right away and could tell by my expressions that it was time to call Dorothy because things were getting serious quickly! Right after calling Dorothy, he called my friends, Jen and Hannah because I wanted them to be with me for the birth! Jen was also my birth photographer! Dorothy was at our house in eleven minutes! After making the phone calls, Shane then started filling our bathtub up for me and I immediately got in! Dorothy arrived and then shortly after, Maggie, one of her assistants, arrived. Brea, another one of Dorothy's assistants, arrived, and about the same time, my friends Jen and Hannah arrived only about five minutes before Timothy was born!! I didn't seem like I labored very long before I felt the urge to push! I wanted to make sure I was ok to go ahead and push, so I asked Dorothy to check me. When she checked, I was fully dilated to 10 and plus 2!! Wow! Timothy was working his way out without me even pushing!! He was ready to come into this world! I think I only pushed 2 or 3 times before he was born at 2:42 a.m.! Dorothy placed Timothy on my chest, I was instantly in love and so thankful to finally have my baby boy in my arms!! He began to nurse not long after and we just snuggled together in the tub while waiting for the placenta! Once that was done, then we got out of the tub and into bed for more snuggles, bonding, nursing, and all the newborn exams. It was my fastest and best birth experience so far!!
